Can I Send TRX to a TRC20 Address?

Yes, you can send TRX to a TRC20-compatible TRON address. The same TRON wallet address supports both TRX and all TRC20 tokens simultaneously. A single address starting with T can receive TRX, USDT-TRC20, USDC-TRC20, and any other TRON-based asset without issue.

This is one of the most convenient aspects of the TRON ecosystem: there is no need for separate addresses for different asset types. Whether you are sending native TRX or a TRC20 token like USDT, the recipient address is the same. This differs from some other blockchains where different token types may require different address formats. When sending from an exchange to a wallet, always select the correct network. If you want to send USDT using TRON, select TRC20 as the network. If the exchange supports ERC-20 (Ethereum), BEP-20 (Binance Smart Chain), or other networks, make sure you choose TRC20 specifically.

Safety First

Always confirm both the recipient address AND the network (TRC20/TRON) before sending. Crypto transfers are irreversible.

TRON addresses always start with the letter T and are 34 characters long. If a recipient address does not start with T, it is likely an Ethereum, Binance, or other network address — not a TRON address. Never send TRX or TRC20 tokens to non-TRON addresses.
